The 2011 Men’s Division I Volleyball Championship

May 10, 2011

State College, PA is part of our country I’ve randomly had on my radar for quite some time. Primarily the fly fishing, but this week I had the opportunity to make the trip for the 2011 Men’s Division I Volleyball Championship. With the championship being held at historic Rec Hall on the Penn State campus I knew it would be visually pleasing and challenging all at once to walk away with great images. With that being said here are a few frames that I thought worked out well. I converted these into black and white in post merely because that’s what it felt like when I was there. A throwback in time. Enjoy.

DII Cross Country

December 18, 2010

Brrrrrr…it was so undeniably cold. I arrived more than an hour prior to start time to get a feel for the course and my fingers were froze through after 5 minutes. I was smiling though. Smiling simply because “bad” weather makes for great photographs. I will take frozen fingers in trade for good photos almost any day.

Sixty-five gigabytes later I’m home. What a week. As most of the nation watched on television I was wandering the aisles of Lucas Oil Stadium in an attempt to make pictures that both satisfied our client, the NCAA, and myself. What a blast. Cheers.
